Oysters. Wine. Be Happy. Make Plans.

“As I ate the oysters with their strong taste of the sea and their faint metallic taste that the cold white wine washed away, leaving only the sea taste and the succulent texture, and as I drank their cold liquid from each shell and washed it down with the crisp taste of the wine, I lost the empty feeling and began to be happy and to make plans.”

~ Ernest Hemingway, A Moveable Feast

Those are making my mouth water. I've never bought & shucked oysters at home before, but I need to try it!

I love Hemingway, even though he was a cheating bastard, and a woman hater, and undermined F. Scott and probably stole his soul. The man enjoyed his food. I'm looking forward to reading more about your happy plans and oyster eating rituals.
