    St. Germain Champagne Cocktail {recipe}

    St Germain Chamapgne cocktail{image via instagram. follow: The Delicious}

    "No Champagne, no gain."

    Given that we experienced near 100° temperatures last week...

    Given that have now "unofficially" kicked off summer...

    Given that LA is eternal sunshine of the seasonless mind...

    Given that I always choose wine over a cocktail, white wine over red wine, and sparkling above all...

    The light, bright, refreshing St. Germain Champagne cocktail, to which my sister introduced me for the first time this past weekend, is perfect...

    St. Germain Champagne Cocktail {recipe}

    makes one cocktail. adjust accordingly.

    INGREDIENTS

    4 parts Champagne
    3 parts St. Germain elderflower liqueur
    4 parts sparkling water
    optional: ice, garnish with fresh raspberry, citrus, mint leaves, whatever

    DIRECTIONS

    Combine Champagne and St. Germain in glass. Add sparkling water. Pour into glass, over ice if desired. Garnish with whatever.

    Resources + Notes + Tips

    ~ St. Germain is a light, floral, fragrant liqueur made from elderflowers. You can find it wherever you find specialty alcohol, it costs about $35.
    ~ Champagne is the ingredient in the original recipe, but any dry white sparkling wine works. Prosecco, a somewhat "lighter" Italian sparkling wine, makes this cocktail even more refreshing (and affordable!)
    ~ most produce from local LA farmers' markets, of particular note, Santa Monica on Wednesday
    ~ the mint is from my kitchen herb garden
